Gold Split Even in Beach Pencak Silat
BENOA BAY (10/22/08) – four gold medals competed in beach pencak silat in Asian Beach Games are split even by four countries on Wednesday (22/10). During the final at Benoa Bay, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia won one gold medal each.
Indonesia triumphed gold from Ni Nyoman Suparniti in D female category. The fighter won over Brunei Darussalam fighter Siti Zuliza Omar by 5-0. The SEA Games 2007 gold medalist was grateful to be able to add another gold for Indonesia.
Thailand managed to win gold in A male category, after Niphon Jantaro was the victor over Brunei Darussalam fighter Amirul Ahat by 4-1.
Malaysia had gold from Faizal Abdullah in H male category by defeating Sakda Rungsombat (Thailand), 4-1.
Whereas Vietnam brought home one gold by Nga Talip in A female category after her win over Malaysian figter Rina Jordana Haji Adnan by 5-0.
