He had gesticulated angrily at a fan and tried to jump over a barrier as he left the field during Sunday's clash with AC Milan in Los Angeles.

A statement from LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena said he "regretted" the incident. He added: "We appreciate our players and fans' passion for the team and the game, but we all must aim to hold ourselves to higher standards."

With his wife Victoria looking on, Beckham had to be held back by security staff during the half-time incident.

Stewards were also needed to restrain an angry fan who left his seat and rushed towards the star footballer.

The LA Galaxy midfielder received a less-than-friendly welcome at what was his first home game after returning from a five-month loan spell at AC Milan.

A section of the crowd booed every time he touched the ball.

They held signs reading "Go Home Fraud" and "23: Repent" in reference to his shirt number.

Mr Arena's statement said: "We regret the incident that happened at the end of the first half of (Sunday's) friendly at The Home Depot Centre. "While it is important that our fans remain free to voice their opinions, they must do so in an appropriate manner."He added that the fan who rushed towards Beckham had been given a lifetime ban by one of the club's fan groups, known as the LA Riot Squad. The statement added: "We have a very good relationship with the LA Riot Squad and have already reached out to them to set up a meeting to discuss moving forward together in a positive direction.

"In addition, the LA Riot Squad has informed us that they have issued a lifetime ban to the fan that went on to the field of play. "We want to move in a positive direction as an organisation, and ask our fans to support our players and our club as we look to return to the playoffs for the first time in three years."

After the match, Beckham claimed he had tried to shake a supporter's hand. "The majority of the fans have been great," he said. On the boos, he added: "It's to be expected. Sometimes it goes beyond it. I tried to shake one of the guys' hands but he didn't want any of it. That's the way it is."

Earlier this year, Beckham indicated he wanted to stay in AC Milan rather than return to America, stating the standard of play was far higher in Italy.

Speaking with Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira and Al Roker on the TODAY plaza Tuesday, the stunning 23-year-old Israeli said her handlers treated their client's highest modeling milestone like a surprise party.

"My agency said I had an audition at the office," Refaeli told the TODAY trio, who actually knew about her being the new S.I. cover girl before she did. "And then they opened the door slowly, slowly, and they had the image of the cover like really big and there were cameras all over.

The swimsuit issue is typically seen by 66 million readers — including four in 10 adult men in the U.S., according to Sports Illustrated research — making it the biggest annual event in magazine publishing. Moreover, becoming the S.I. cover girl launched the careers of Tyra Banks, Rebecca Romijn, Cheryl Tiegs, Cindy Crawford and Heidi Klum into the stratosphere.

Refaeli was well aware of the famous footsteps she hoped to follow in when posing for photographer Raphael Mazzucco on Canouan Island in the Grenadines. It's also purposeful, he noted, that the models have healthy, sometimes curvy, figures. "A skinny waif won't work here."

In consumer testing, it's inevitable that the raciest one is the favorite, but that's not the one that lands on the front. "There are marketplace considerations," McDonell explained. Desert project taking shape as grassing begins and it will cost US$1 billion, so it's no surprise that the Al Ruwaya GC promises to be one of the most incredible golf courses in the world.

Located 20 miles inland from Dubai in desert terrain, the course is the first to bear Woods' name and when finished will feature 200 building plots ranging from US$1.5-22m.

A total of 11,000 mature trees have been imported from five countries including South Africa and Australia to grace the course while the water bill for the turf nursery is US$120k per month.

The grass is imported in turf form from America and, when ready, is rolled up in strips then laid like carpet on the course.

No wonder Golf Night's Mark Roe calls it "a wonderful piece of sculpture and engineering".

Woods himself is bowled over by the project and said: "It's hard to believe that it is coming to fruition - a project of this scale is something that has never been done in this region before. It's been an amazing challenge but it will also be unbelievably rewarding for everyone involved."

The 31-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee injury sustained in September but, with a return to action expected to be only a month away, his representative has suggested that City were still keen to strike a deal. "A man close to Manchester City called me some days ago to tell me of his interest in David," Antonio Caliendo told L'Equipe. "I believe the club are ready to put on the table a bid of more than 20million euros (£18.1m) to get him.

"Manchester City's interest isn't new. It happened last year."

However, Caliendo insists Trezeguet is not for sale.

"A big Spanish club also contacted me a few weeks ago, before City did, as well as two clubs from the Persian Gulf," he added. "But David is untransferable and it is out of the question that I will talk more to these clubs since David still isn't playing again. "He will stay at Juve through this transfer window."

While Caliendo has ruled out a move to Eastlands, City boss Mark Hughes has claimed that he has no knowledge of any interest in the striker from his club. "It's news to me," he said.

Wayne Rooney will not face disciplinary action over his alleged stamp in the UEFA Champions League.

The Manchester United striker had been accused of deliberating stepping on Aalborg's Kasper Risgard during a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford last week.

The Danish midfielder insisted the England international should have been sent off for 'jumping' on his chest and leaving bruising on his body.

However, Uefa have decided no charges will be brought against Rooney after studying the incident on video.

The United ace will, therefore, be available for the Red Devils as they enter the knockout stages of Europe's premier club competition.

A spokesman said: "Uefa will not open any disciplinary proceedings against Wayne Rooney."

The former United captain resigned as Sunderland manager on Thursday after just over two years in the job.

AC Milan have changed their plans to hold a news conference with David Beckham next Thursday.

Sky Sports News' chief news reporter Bryan Swanson understands Milan hoped Beckham would see the squad at their training ground before meeting the media at the San Siro.

The change in schedule raises doubts over Beckham's inclusion in Fabio Capello's England squad to face Germany next Wednesday night.

The friendly is being played in Berlin and is only a 90-minute flight from Milan. Beckham will not have played a competitive game for three-and-a-half weeks following the end of Los Angeles Galaxy's Major League Soccer season.

HOW DO YOU KEEP FIT?

I keep fit by doing my job so I need to be at a decent level of fitness even when I am not in competition. When I am out of training I try to do a bit of swimming or play five-a-side football.

BEST PLACE TO KEEP FIT?

For me personally it is at my boxing club, Salisbury ABC. For somebody just wanting general keep fit training I would recommend somewhere where you feel comfortable and nobody bothers you, and an ideal place for this is the road. Just going for a 30 minute jog is relaxing and good for the heart and lungs, and is also a good fat burner.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DIET

I tend to have a normal diet. Not too strict as I treat myself every now and then with a Chinese when I am not in training. As for when I am in training I try to eat plenty of fish, chicken and steaks for my protein, and a lot of rice and pasta. It can become a little bit boring trying to stick to it and sometimes inconvenient but the benefits can be seen.

WHAT IS IN YOUR FRIDGE NOW?

In my fridge right now is some fresh apple juice, milk, some yoghurts, and some lettuce, tomatoes. Our fridge never gets full as we tend to go day-to-day with the shopping as I don't know what I am going to feel like for my tea in three days time.

ANY VICES?

Going to the chippy. I haven't really got a sweet tooth though. I also like a few pints when I am not in training. It is good to let your hair down when you get time off from a sport which needs you to sacrifice a lot more than most other sports. So it is well earned.

TOP TIP?

My top tip would be - if you’re going to do something, do it properly. There's no point joining a posh fitness club and buying all the new training gear if you’re just going to stand round jangling to other people. It is best to keep it simple at first – stick to walking, jogging etc and build up as you go along.

And ease into it with the difficulty as you could injure yourself by doing too much too soon. Set yourself short term goals such as timing yourself and trying to beat your previous time or doing one extra press up per week for example. Most of all enjoy it.

Jankovic Asserts Herself

The season ending WTA Championships got under way in Doha where the world number one, Jelena Jankovic, posted a straight sets victory over her compatriot, Ana Ivanovic, in what was a comfortable and straightforward encounter.

Her 6-3,6-4 win in her White Group Round Robin match, also corrected her poor record with Ivanovic having lost all six of ther previous clashes.

Ivanovic made too many unforced errors in the tricky, windy conditions and Jankovic always looked set to emerge the victor.

Towards the end of the match Ivanovic pulled up and while the trainer then attended her, there was no medical time-out and no clear indication as to what had caused her to call for attention.

Later Jankovic said of her new status: "I don't feel like I have any pressure. It doesn't matter what I do here, I will finish in that position (number one). I can just keep hitting the ball and playing my tennis.

"Earlier, Vera Zvonareva had opened the tournament with a scrappy 6-2,6-3 victory over fellow Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova in the day's other White Group encounter. Zvonareva, the last player to qualify for the season-ending WTA event, adapted much the better to the blustery conditions.

Afterwards Zvonareva commented: "I was a very, very tough match, it was so windy today. We've been playing indoors for the last two months so it was difficult. I'm pretty satisfied."

She added starting well had been important to the outcome. "It was very difficult for both of us to start this match with the conditions. There was no rhythm and we're not really used to it (the wind). I was just fighting (at the start) and then I was able to find my rhythm.

"In the the other Maroon Group, Venus Williams recovered from a slow start to defeat Dinara Safina 7-5 6-3."

After have gossip for a many days, AC Milan finally had confirmed that David Beckham will join the club on loan from LA Galaxy on 7th January.

The Rossoneri made little secret of their interest in signing the former Real Madrid and Manchester United player following the conclusion of the MLS season.

With Beckham on a lucrative contract with The Galaxy, the Los Angeles club have decided to offset some of that outlay by allowing Beckham to join AC Milan during the close-season.

The news of Beckham's stint in Italy is also a boost for Fabio Capello as it means the former captain of the side maintains his match sharpness ahead of England's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on 1st April.

AC Milan's Umberto Gandini has confirmed Beckham will only remain with the club until he is required to return to re-join The Galaxy to train ahead of the new MLS season.

"The deal is for as long as David wishes but I think he's committed to MLS and LA Galaxy will bring him back after a couple of months I think," he told Sky Sports News. "I think he will have to go back to MLS by the time it starts and training before that. A final date has not been agreed yet, but obviously it's down to MLS to decide."

When asked if Beckham could stay longer than his initial loan period, Gandini re-iterated the veteran midfielder is committed to MLS. "David is committed to LA Galaxy. We thank them for letting him play and train with us," he continued. "Only David knows his future. He has a commitment to MLS and I'm sure he'll fulfill that.

"At our club Beckham will have a lot of people and a lot of players that have his ability and his status so I think he will be very beneficial for him and the English game. "David is coming as a Milan player. He will train with the other Milan players and his selection will be up to the coaches as it is everywhere."

French Open champion Ana Ivanovic clinched her first title since Roland Garros with a 6-2 6-1 victory over Vera Zvonareva in the Linz Open.

The battle of the top seeds proved a one-sided affair with the Serb breaking her Russian opponent on no fewer than six occasions, completing the win in 50 minutes.

Ivanovic suffered a loss of form after bagging her first Grand Slam title before a thumb injury forced her to miss the Olympic Games, but showed signs of a revival by reaching the last four in Zurich last week. "It's great to be in the final and win again," said Ivanovic. "I'm very, very happy. I've started to feel my game again and I've been playing better and better each match. "Before, I was too stressed about injury and wanted to win so much, but now I've started to enjoy playing and competing again."

Zvonareva, a two-time winner this season, had the consolation of securing her place in the season-ending WTA Championships next month by reaching the final in Linz. "She played very good and I probably paid the price today for playing seven weeks in row," Zvonareva said. "I couldn't keep my concentration on a single point today so it was very difficult. "I made my choice after the US Open to play every week because there were a lot of girls who wanted to get into the Championships and at the end of the day I got to where I wanted to be. "But today I had to pay the price. I couldn't push myself any more."

The volunteers have returned, hopefully with big smile on their faces as they are another essential part of this Asian history and the world's heritage in sports. The spectators have also done cheering for their favorite teams. The journalists have performed all their duties of sounding the event all accross the country and beyond. Bali has returned to its previous days, full of new beginnings and expectations to explore.

Two years from now, we will witness another Asian Beach Games. We will witness all the spirit and battle to be the best by defeating the best. Battle for Gold

18 athletes from four countries will compete for the victory of gold in Asian Beach Games I jet ski in Tirta Arum Beach, Nusa Dua, Bali, 23-25 October 2008. The four countries are Thailand with eight athletes, Kuwait and Lebanon each with one jet skier and the host, Indonesia with eight athletes. All participants will compete for four gold medals in four categories of Runabout 800cc Super Stock, Ski, Runabout and Runabout Endurance Open. Indonesia and Thailand are the largest participants in jet ski, and Indonesia as the host is the favorite victor candidate on the competition.

Indonesia racked up most medals from beach pencak silat in Asian Beach Games (ABG) with five gold and two bronze. In the last pencak match in Benoa Bay, Nusa Dua, Indonesia secures another three gold medals.

Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand, earned one gold medal each. Malaysia won over Thailand 4-1 after a tight duel between Faizal Abdullah and Sakda Rungsombat. Meanwhile, Vietnam got one gold medal when Nga Latip in woman A category won over Malaysian athlete, Rina Jordana Haji Adnan by 5-0. Thailand got their gold medal in men’s A category when Niphon Jantaro won over Brunei’s Amirul Ahat, 5-0. In a previous match, Ahat defeated Indonesian best fighter, Diyan Kristianto, in a knock out. Indonesian Pencak Silat team manager, Bambang Rus Effendi, said that the success exceeded the target. “Our target is four medals but we won five,” he said.

Sacchi Wants Becks

After weeks of hearsay and speculation, it has finally been announced that Becks will be heading for Milanello next January.

Rossoneri Vice President Galliani announced yesterday that the Los Angeles Galaxy star will be added to Carlo Ancelotti's ranks for at least four months and "will form a dream team with Brazilians Kaka and Ronaldinho."

Some pundits on the peninsula have blasted the move and poked fun at the Via Turati outfit, for they seem to be willing to set up a big circus, merely to attract lavish sponsors.

But ex-Rossoneri legend and Italy boss Arrigo Sacchi maintains he is 100 per cent in favor of this action.

"I told Galliani to go after Beckham, because he can do great things for his team, unlike other players who can sometimes constitute a huge risk," he told Radio Radio Tv.

"He is an amazing professional and an exceptional lad. He won't stir up controversy in the squad and, if he is still the footballer that I admired a few years ago, I am confident he will add that little bit of extra quality to the side.

"In the past, players such as Rivaldo and Ronaldo have failed to settle in, but I'm sure it will be different with David, he will thrive at San Siro and Milan will greatly benefit from this transfer."

The deal will see the Diavoli secure a loan agreement for the England international during the winter transfer session, with the 33-year-old expected to return to Los Angeles when the MLS season restarts in April.

Gold Split Even in Beach Pencak Silat

BENOA BAY (10/22/08) – four gold medals competed in beach pencak silat in Asian Beach Games are split even by four countries on Wednesday (22/10). During the final at Benoa Bay, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia won one gold medal each.

Indonesia triumphed gold from Ni Nyoman Suparniti in D female category. The fighter won over Brunei Darussalam fighter Siti Zuliza Omar by 5-0. The SEA Games 2007 gold medalist was grateful to be able to add another gold for Indonesia.

Thailand managed to win gold in A male category, after Niphon Jantaro was the victor over Brunei Darussalam fighter Amirul Ahat by 4-1.

Malaysia had gold from Faizal Abdullah in H male category by defeating Sakda Rungsombat (Thailand), 4-1.

Whereas Vietnam brought home one gold by Nga Talip in A female category after her win over Malaysian figter Rina Jordana Haji Adnan by 5-0.

She looks to old for the "sport world", but look what she have done. Compete Olympic games five times, reporter and announcer for American Network, host in golf show in the Clubhouse and having some model careers.

Darra Grace Torres is her name. In her age, when other mothers take a rest in the house, Torres swimming out for American team in Beijing 2008 and result some silver medals at 50M free style, 4X100 medley relay and 4X100 freestyle relay. Actually Torres has won twelve Olympic medals (four gold, four silver, four bronze), five of which she won in the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. She is also the first American female swimmer who has compete the Olympic games for 5 times, 1984, 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2008.

Brazilians won gold medals on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour Sunday as the Salgodo sisters joined their brother on the top of international Beach Volleyball podiums in Poland and Mallorca after defeating teams from Germany.

Carolina and Maria Clara Salgado join their mother (Isabel) and brother (Pedro) as gold medal winners on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour as the Brazilian sisters won the Polish stop in Myslowice. Brother Pedro followed his sisters to the top of the podium on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca by teaming with Harley Marques to capture a FIVB gold medal.

The two SWATCH FIVB World Tour events were be held at the same time as the 2008 SWATCH-FIVB Junior World Championships in England on Brighton Beach where teams from Italy and the Netherlands captured the gold medals for players under the age of 21.

Based from Berbatov said: joining MU is a dream come true for him, i found another interesting stories. Manchester City attempted to hijack its crosstown rival's move by making a bid earlier in the day, having agreed to a takeover by United Arab Emirates investors....and what he said is really good to know: "I don't play for the money,'' said Berbatov, "Those who know me - my really close friends - know that I play for enjoyment and to entertain the fans".

Berbatov also said he only wanted to play for "the biggest club in the world.''
"If I want to play for the money, I will accept the Manchester City offer or Chelsea, but the red shirt is a really big thing for me.''

I really don't know if Berbatov say is only rhetoric or not. But, regarding what happen to him before, i think he really mean it about MU. He leaves Tottenham Hotspurs even spurs had not wanted to sell him to United, and he was omitted from the team this season by manager Juande Ramos while he held out for a transfer. Spurs had rejected an earlier bid from United and had been driving a hard bargain with the Red Devils after complaining to the Premier League in July about their "disgraceful'' attempts to tempt away Berbatov.........and after all these matters, he just said: "I went through some very difficult times and it was a long battle, but I always thought it was going to happen and in the end it did,'' Berbatov said. "Now I am here and hopefully I will play my part in the team and we can win lots of trophies as well.''

"This is maybe the last step in my career,'' he said. "I'm in the biggest club in the world and here I can develop in the way I want and the way I always wanted and that's the most important thing for me.........''

The sport of slamball is a very recent invention with the first season taking place in 2002. The sport was created by Mason Gordon and is best described as a mix of basketball and ice hockey. The majority of the elements are based on basketball, including the use of a basketball and basketball hoop apparatus. However, slamball’s very physical style of play and the ability of constant substitutions mirror ice hockey. Gordon’s goal was to create a sport that would be able comparable to a real life video game.

Slamball is played on a 100’X62’ court with the floor being comprised of shock absorbent panels. The one characteristic that tends to separate slamball from all other sports is the use of trampolines. Each end of the floor is nearly completely covered by four 7’X14’ trampolines. This is what gives slamball its video-game-like qualities: the ability for the players to reach stunning heights and perform breathtaking dunks that were previously only found in video games and the imagination.

A team wins a game by outscoring their opponents through made shots and dunks and also playing defense with the goal of preventing the opposing team from scoring. A regular shot, the ball passing through the hoop by the offense, is worth two points, but a slam dunk, a player using one or both hands to forcibly jam the ball through the hoop, is worth three points. A game consists of two eight-minute halves with a 15-second shot clock governing each offensive possession (players have 15 seconds to attempt a shot).

Slamball consists of various rules that at the same time reflect hockey, basketball, and sport all its own. The game and second half both start off with what is called a “bounce off”. The bounce off is the opposite of the tip off that is used in basketball. As was mentioned before, teams are permitted limitless substitutions that are possible without a stoppage in play. Teams are given only one timeout which can only be used in the final two minutes of a game. There are various rules that govern the trampolines (the SlamZone) including no contact within the SlamZone, offensive players are not allowed to enter the SlamZone in an attempt to recover a loose ball, and a defender is forbidden from interrupting the natural course of an offensive player’s jump. Checking or full body contact is permitted within specific boundaries: no checking a player in possession of the ball who has not dribbled yet, players without the ball can be checked, and no checking in the back. These are only a few of the rules and any violation of these results in a foul, a player fouls out of a game with three fouls. A game is presided over by two referees and table officials.
